He was born in Athens, Greece.
He graduated from the Faculty of Theology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he also completed his postgraduate and doctoral studies in the field of Ecclesiastical and Canon Law. His doctoral dissertation, entitled “The Bishop as Judge in Ecclesiastical Trial”, explores the canonical, legal, and historical dimensions of the episcopal office as a judicial authority, based on the Holy Canons, the decisions of the Ecumenical Councils, and the applicable Greek and European legislation concerning the jurisdiction of the Church of Greece.
He also holds a degree in Law from the University of Sunderland (United Kingdom) with postgraduate studies in Private International Law, a Master’s degree in Public Law from the Democritus University of Thrace, and a Master’s degree in Byzantine Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He serves as a Visiting Professor of Ecclesiastical and Canon Law at the Higher Ecclesiastical Academy of Athens and has worked as a special advisor and collaborator with academic and ecclesiastical institutions in Greece and abroad.
He has participated in numerous international conferences and has published academic studies on Ecclesiastical Law, Church–State relations, and the constitutional protection of religious freedom.
His research interests focus on the canonical and legal organization of the Orthodox Church in Greece and internationally, the function of ecclesiastical justice, and the interaction between ecclesiastical and civil law within the modern European framework, as well as on issues of inter-Orthodox and inter-Christian relations and religious diplomacy.
He is a clergyman of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens of the Church of Greece and serves as Secretary of the Synodal Committee for Ecclesiastical Art and Music, as well as of the Special Synodal Committees on Christian Monuments and on the Academy of Ecclesiastical Arts of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.
He cooperates with academic and ecclesiastical institutions in Greece, Cyprus, the United States of America, and Ukraine.
Since 2024, he has been serving as Professor of Ecclesiastical and Canon Law at the Volyn Orthodox Theological Academy.
